                    Breaking and Entering the Presentation

What to expect…

A candid talk on gun violence in America through the eyes of an artist and former 911 dispatcher turned public safety community advocate delivers captivating plea for America’s youth and their families. An honest assessment of our core values; the things we care about and the engine that drives the machine that steer us away from holding on to them.

Breaking and entering the presentation” a remarkable medley of art, passion, outreach and resolve. Presented by multimodality artist Sidney Brodie and a guided tour with an honest look at rampant homicides in Durham over the past 30 years. With background in arts and entertainment, public safety communications, an amalgamation of these disciplines along with performing arts, emergency management, conflict resolution and a surety of brighter days on the horizon, presenter highlights concrete ways of getting young people involved in their own rescue. Poignant testimony in becoming the change you wish to see in your community. The vast majority will walk away with all confidence that WE GOT THIS!

Historical trek: Event attendees will enter the venue from lobby which has been transformed into a passageway featuring the origin of the Durham Homicide memorial quilt/blanket via power point loop and provocative video clips of the exhibit’s 30-year trek.
